EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Kris Alberti
As Executive Director of Northwest Independent Contractors Association and enjoys her various roles as manager, instructor, and mentor. She has over 20 years construction experience – working in commercial flooring, owning a general contracting company that builds spec, custom and green homes; in addition to a roof-truss manufacturing plant specializing in structural building components. In 2005, Kris transitioned into consulting for contractors and now is an OSHA 500 Safety, EPA’s Certified Lead Renovator, OSHA’s Disaster Site Worker, First Aid/CPR and Apprenticeship Instructor. Kris also teaches several NAHB courses, including Green Building and Business Management for Building Professionals.
OSHA 500/EPA CERTIFIED LEAD RENOVATOR INSTRUCTOR:
Dale Yerabek. A General Contractor/Specialty Roofing Contractor for the past 20 years. He regularly works with floor prep and installation companies to keep his construction expertise live. Dale brings real-life, relevant experience to his safety courses, specializing in ladder safety, fall protection, and respiratory protection programs. Dale is an OSHA 500 Safety, EPA’s Certified Lead Renovator, OSHA’s Disaster Site Worker, First Aid/CPR, and Forklift Instructor.
ADMINION: Karmén Schuemann
Karmén keeps NICA working smoothly with her grant administration, onsite event management and technical input.
The instruction team relies heavily on her ability to keep them on track, schedules met, and issues resolved so they can focus on instruction. Karmén has gathered a level of expertise that would allow her to step in and instruct in almost any class!
Kurt Conrad is a motivating speaker and life coach who has turned his attention to safety training.
He has over 10 years construction experience – supervising new home construction, renovation, maintenance and repair in multi-family rentals. In 2012, Kurt transitioned into safety training for contractors and is now an OSHA 500 Safety, Disaster Site Worker, and First Aid/CPR Instructor.

Sydney has a keen eye for detail and understands the value in helping contractors comply with both necessary safety skills and required documentation.
